TITAN 900
Mobile Heavy-Duty Class
With the increasing use of CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastics) and GFRP (glass fibre reinforced plastics) in various branches of industry – from aircraft construction to vehicle and shipbuilding to wind energy plants – the amount of CFRP/GFRP waste has been rising steadily for several years. Due to their special material properties and the complex composition of the reinforced materials, the proper and harmless recycling of these waste streams is becoming increasingly important.
The dismantling of wind energy plants and the growing demand for sustainable recycling solutions require special processes to secure the valuable raw materials in CFRP and GFRP waste and protect the environment. Our powerful two-shaft shredders are capable of effectively shredding these particularly challenging waste materials. Have you ever shredded a 10 metre long rotor blade in one piece? Almost anything is possible with ARJES machines.
Carbon fibres are valued for their extreme stability and durability. Their high rigidity, tensile strength and low weight make them the ideal material for wind turbine rotor blades, the bodywork of electric vehicles and bicycle frames. Glass fibre-reinforced plastics are particularly weather-resistant, break-proof and impact-resistant, which is why they are widely used in shipbuilding, plant construction and wind energy plants.
Our two-shaft shredders are ideally equipped for processing CFRP and GFRP waste. They effectively shred the solid composite materials and enable targeted further processing. Whether wind turbine blades, boats or aircraft parts – ARJES machines offer an effective solution for every type of CFRP/ GFRP waste.
Landfilling fibre composites is generally ruled out due to their long-term stability and the associated potential environmental hazards. Conventional incineration processes are also not suitable for these materials. Research into effective recycling processes for CFRP and GFRP waste is still in its infancy, but harbours great potential for conserving natural resources and promoting the circular economy. Recycled CFRP materials can be used as reinforcement material in the construction industry, while GFRP is often used as a substitute fuel in the cement industry to reduce fossil fuels and at the same time utilise residual materials sensibly.
