Paper recycling Shredding of paper, cardboard and packaging

Our solution for for paper recycling

Traditionally, paper is not only the oldest recycled product, but still a key component of today’s modern circular economy. With a recycling rate of around 80%, the reuse of waste paper makes a decisive contribution to conserving resources and minimizing environmental impact. Paper, cardboard and cartons are valuable raw materials that can be reused multiple times through recycling processes.
To efficiently recycle waste paper such as newspapers, brochures, books, stationery, paper packaging, etc., our shredding machines are the ideal solution. All of these materials generated in offices, public administrations or retail can be optimally shredded with ARJES shredders and prepared for the recycling loop. Whether paper rolls, paper bales or cartons – our recycling systems enable efficient and cost-effective pre-shredding.

Processing of of paper and cartons

The waste paper recycling process comprises several steps: from sorting, screening, shredding and pressing through to bleaching, drying and smoothing the finished paper product. Paper fibers can be recycled five to six times before they lose quality. Our slow-running two-shaft shredders enable precise and efficient volume reduction, even with challenging materials such as densely pressed paper bales.

Facts about recycling of paper waste

In Germany, waste paper is among the most frequently recycled materials. Recyclable paper waste includes newspapers, brochures, books and packaging made of paper, cardboard and carton. However, composite materials such as beverage cartons, thermal paper or contaminated paper packaging, e.g., soiled pizza boxes with food residues, do not belong in waste paper. While producing new paper requires a lot of wood, energy and water, manufacturing recycled paper uses only about 50% of the energy and 33% of the water. Recycled paper can be used almost everywhere, from printers and newspapers to packaging and stationery.

ARJES shredders in action

ARJES’ asynchronous shredding process provides the necessary power to cut through even heavily compressed paper rolls and bales. Whether shredding cartons or roll paper, our shredders make a decisive contribution to returning this paper waste to the production cycle.

Our recommendationfor shredding Paper and cartons

For paper recycling, we recommend our mobile two-shaft shredder EKOMAXX 800 as well as the stationary recycling system EKOMAXX 800 e-pu. ARJES shredders with asynchronous shredding technology are particularly suitable for difficult-to-shred paper waste such as paper rolls and paper bales. The powerful shredders TITAN 900 and TITAN 900 e-pu/d-pu also offer excellent performance for shredding paper and cartons.
