Traditionally, paper as a raw material is not only the oldest recycled product, but is also still an essential part of our modern circular economy. With a recycling rate of around 80%, the reuse of waste paper makes a decisive contribution to conserving resources and minimising environmental pollution. Paper, cardboard and cardboard packaging are valuable raw materials that can be reused several times through the use of recycling processes.
Our shredding machines are the ideal solution for efficiently recycling waste paper such as newspapers, brochures, books, stationery, paper packaging and so on. All of these materials, which accumulate in offices, administrative centres or retail outlets, can be optimally shredded with ARJES shredders and prepared for the recycling loop. Whether paper rolls, paper bales or cardboard – our recycling systems enable efficient and cost-effective pre-shredding.
The process of recycling waste paper involves several steps: from sorting, screening, shredding and pressing to bleaching, drying and smoothing the finished paper product. Paper fibres can be recycled five to six times before they lose quality. Our slow-running two-shaft shredders enable precise and efficient volume reduction, even with difficult materials such as densely compressed paper bales.
The asynchronous shredding process from ARJES provides the necessary power to cut through even heavily compressed paper rolls and bales. Whether shredding cardboard or roll paper, our shredders make a decisive contribution to returning this paper waste to the production cycle.
In Germany, waste paper is one of the most frequently recycled materials. Recyclable paper waste includes newspapers, brochures, books and packaging made of paper, cardboard and carton. However, waste paper does not include composite materials such as drinks cartons, thermal paper or soiled paper packaging, e.g. dirty pizza boxes with food residue. While the production of new paper requires a lot of wood, energy and water, the production of recycled paper only uses around 50% of the energy and 33% of the water. Recycled paper can be used almost everywhere, from printers and newspapers to packaging and stationery.

For paper recycling, we recommend our EKOMAXX 800 mobile two-shaft shredder and the EKOMAXX 800 e-pu stationary recycling system. The ARJES shredders with asynchronous shredding technology are particularly suitable for paper waste that is difficult to shred, such as paper rolls and paper bales. The powerful TITAN 900 and TITAN 900 e-pu/d-pu shredders also offer outstanding performance for shredding paper and cardboard.
